The tour takes in some of the sights of the city before
going to Batu Caves and onwards to Bukit Melawati (Fort
Altingsburg, with its groups of Silver Leaf Monkeys) in
Kuala Selangor. We then go for a delicious seafood dinner a
a river-side restaurant while watching the sunset. After the
meal, we come to the highlight of the tour - going on a
boat-ride to watch the dazzle of fireflies.
Our drive to Kuala Selangor takes approximately 1.5 hours,
passing through small towns, kampungs and plantations. On
arrival at Kuala Selangor, we visit "Bukit Melawati", once a
Dutch fort known as "Fort Altinsburg". Perched on a hill, it
offers a panoramic view Selangor coast and the Malacca
straits. Crowned by a lighthouse, the tall beautiful shady
trees here are a haven for silvered leaf monkeys and the
long tail macaques. These monkeys normally hang around
waiting for handouts normally given by visitors.
With the coming of dusk, we drive across the bridge over for a
sumptuous seafood dinner at the riverside restaurant while
watching the a river view sunset. After dinner we take a 15
minutes drive to Kampung Kuantan for the highlight of the
tour. We will take a battery operated boat in the quiet
darkness to witness the blinking trees. This scintillating
display of fireflies portrays an image of a flashing
Christmas tree.
The synchronized, rhythmic flashing is produced by the
thousands of fireflies found in the mangrove swamp of
Kampung Kuantan. The skilled boatman will make this
experience a memorable and an unforgettable one.

You go to different places in Melaka and will get to try a
variety of different tastes and flavours of food of all the
many cultures at one go. The portions offered are just nice
so that you get to taste all that is offered -
ITINERARY
*'Teh tarik' (locally brewed tea) and Kaya Butter Toast -
The famous local yummy way to snack
* An option of Malacca ‘Cendol’ (a combination of the shaved
ice, green colour pieces of cendol, red bean, coconut milk
and palm sugar or Malacca sugar) and Laksa (a pungent, rich
and well flavoured dish with spices and chillies prepared in a
broth using chicken and prawns) Or go for the milder yet
savoury rice noodle with pork.
*A selection of 2-3 types of ‘Nyonya Kueh’ – These are small
decorative cakes of different colour and sweetness. Ignore
the diet and indulge in all the sweet delights and go for
it.
* 'Pai Tee (top hat) or 'Popiah' - a crunchy flour cup
filled with julienned vegetables, omelette and fried shallots.
The ‘hats’ were quite small and these treats went very well
with the chili sauce provided. Simply pop it into your mouth
and enjoy its crunchiness.
* Option of either 'Satay Babi' (Pork Satay), a dish of
seasoned, skewered and grilled pork meat served with spicy
peanut sauce, Or the ‘Chicken Ball Rice’ - Not commonly
available elsewhere, the rice is first boiled in chicken
soup with other seasonings. When cooked, it is rolled in a
ball that gives the unique look and texture. very yummy, and
the chicken very tender
- With all the eating, we will go for a Museum visit stroll
to help digest the food. According to your preference and
discussion with the guide, the visit can either be to the
Baba & Nyonya Museum or to the Cheng Ho Museum.
* Lastly before returning, you can option for Indian food (Roti
Canai & Indian snacks served on a banana leaf) or ‘Assam
Pedas’ - A very hot and mild sour fish curry making it very
appetizing and is best to go with white rice.
