Light Rail Transit Network in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur Guide - Transport

Kuala Lumpur's rail-based transit
system consists of two light rail transit lines, one monorail, two commuter rail
system, and one airport rail link.
Different companies operate the various systems and developed them separately at
different times. As a result, many of the lines do not integrate well, making
transferring from system to system inconvenient for passengers. Moving from one
system to another often require a lot of walking, stair-climbing, escalator-use
and even crossing busy roads. For example, the KL Monorail's "KL Sentral"
station is a 140 m walk away through a busy bazaar and a busy road.
Rapid KL operates the Kelana Jaya Rail Line (previously known as PUTRA) and the
Ampang Rail Line (previously known as STAR).
Ampang
Rail Line (previously known as STAR)
running through 25 stations covering the far corners of the Klang Valley, the
system links Sentul Timur, Ampang and Sri Petaling through the city centre.
The train frequencies also vary, arriving at stations every four to six minutes
during peak hours (between 7.30am to 9.00am on Mondays to Saturdays and between
4.30pm and 7.30pm on Mondays to Fridays). At all other times, train frequencies
are reduced to a train every six to ten minutes.
The train service starts at all stations at 6.00am. The last trains from Ampang
and Sri Petaling to Sentul Timur leave at 11.30pm whereas the last trains from
Sentul Timur to Ampang and Sri Petaling leave at 11.30pm.

KL
Monorail
The system consists of two parallel elevated tracks running 8.6 km with that
serves a total of 11 stations located along the southeast and northeast regions
of Kuala Lumpur,.
Begining from the Titwangsa Station at Jalan Tun Razak in the north, it passes
through Kuala Lumpur's 'Golden Triangle' (central business district) before
reaching KL Sentral in Brickfields.
Of the 11 stations, 4 are designated as "integrated stations" that are used as
interchanges to and from the Ampang Line, Kelana Jaya Line or other transit
services provided at Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
Certain stations are situated above roadways, or are slightly longer than
others. Each station is also designated with a sponsor, with route maps
associating each station with a particular company.
