Sights - On the Outskirts of Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur - Destinations & Sights

On the outskirts of KL City, there are a number of interesting places to visit that is within easy reach. These include the world renowned Batu Caves, the reputable pewter crafts of Selangor Pewter, and the Sunway Lagoon amusement and family theme park. For Nature lovers there is the Templer's Park and the educational FRIM (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia). For those into buildings, architecture and beautiful structures a rewarding trip would be to Putrajaya.

Batu Caves
A highly popular and an important devotional site and sacred place for the Hindu's in Malaysia. The site serves as the focus of the yearly Thaipusam Festival which attracts more than 1.5 million pilgrims, making it one of the largest religious gathering in the country

Selangor Pewter
Visitors here get a glimpse of the pewter crafting process in the factory tour which includes rare insights into the intricate handiwork of pewter crafting. Shows you 'live' the different pewter production processes - casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving

Sunway Lagoon
Great place for the kids and adults. Consist of a water park and a 'dry' park with a multitude of rides that will test your endurance to the limit. Great fun day, for the family especially. You can even do a spot of surfing with the artificial waves at the waterpark

Templer Park
Situated at the fringes of Kuala Lumpur, this 1,214 hectares of forest reserve rich in natural wilderness, attracts nature lovers, bird watchers, jungle trekkers, photographers and picnickers.. Consisting of lowland forests with abundant birdlife, there are waterfalls, jungle trails and a natural pool with a 740-metre hill.

FRIM - Forest Research Institute Malaysia
For visitors who wish to see and experience the wonders of a tropical forest without the rigors of traveling to the national parks. With jungle trails and a 200 m canopy walkway suspended between trees about 30 m above ground, it offers a back-to-nature experience whilst enjoying the flora and fauna.

Putrajaya
Of special interest to a visitor would be the architectural concepts of its buildings, designs of its square, boulevards and bridges, the scenic lake and the wetlands and nature parks.
