Sights
Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens or Taman Tasik Perdana is located in the west of the
city. It is a sprawling 104 hectares of of undulating greenery interspersed with
flowering shrubs, shady trees, exceptional botanical gardens, and other notable
features such as children's playground, jogging tracks, exercise stations and
boating facilities. t provides a pleasant escape for city dwellers whom can be
seen strolling, jogging or even doing some early morning tai chi, surrounded by
lush greenery
The
brainchild of Alfred Venning, the British State Treasurer in the 1880s, this
popular and famous park is centered around an artificial lake and was built on
what used to be a tin mining area.
Among the notable places of interest here is the War Memorial, Butterfly Park,
Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens and the KL Bird Park. From the gardens, you may also
visit other nearby attractions such as the National Museum, The Old Railway
Station, National Mosque, Islamic Arts Museum and the Parliament House.

National Monument/ Tugu Negara
One of the world's largest freestanding bronze sculptures, the monument was
constructed in 1966 to honour those who died in Malaysia's struggle for freedom.
The monument depicts seven men from the Malayan security forces, each
symbolising the seven qualities, of leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance,
strength, courage and sacrifice.
Butterfly
Park
This colourful and beautifully landscaped Park has over 6,000 butterflies from
120 species roam and fly freely in a simulated natural rainforest environment.
Over 15,000 flower and fruit plants were used in creating this habitat

Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens
With 800 orchid species from Malaysia alone and more than 2,000 varieties of
hibiscuses, a must go for flower enthusiasts. Situated on a scenic hilltop, it's
a 1 ha floral paradise, where you can admire the different varieties of orchids
and the hibiscus at one go.
KL
Bird Park
The World's largest Free Flight Aviary" and houses more than 3,000 birds and 200
species from all over the world. Birds and nature lovers can have a wonderful
day watching colourful sights and melodic sound of birds perching and winging
about freely while enjoying the natural and beautifully landscaped surroundings.

National
Museum
A palatial structure built in the style of Minangkabau architecture. Displays
and exhibits focus on local history, culture and traditions, arts and crafts,
economic activities, local flora and fauna, weapons and currency.
The
Old Railway Station
A magnificent piece of architecture. Designed by Arthur Benison Hubback (AB
Hubback), it began service as the central hub for all the trains of Keretapi
Tanah Melayu, Malaya's rail system.
The National Mosque
This umbrella design gives the mosque a unique contrast to the usual. The main
dome with folded-plate roof in the shape of "semi-opened umbrella" and its
minaret is in the shape of "closed umbrella" stands at 72 metres from the
ground.

Islamic Arts Museum
Home to Southeast Asias largest museum of Islamic art. The art The permanent

The Parliament House
This uniquely designed building symbolizes the democratic system of Malaysia.
The 20 level tower block, contains offices for ministers and members of the
Upper and Lower Chambers. Rising through the centre of this concourse is the
sharp triangular outline of the roof (11 folded plate roof) of the House of
Representatives.
