Sunway Lagoon Theme Park ~ Places to Visit in Kuala Lumpur
KL Visitors Guide

Sunway Loon Theme Park is Malaysia's Premier Theme Park that consists of Water Park, Amusement Park, Scream Park, Wildlife Park and
the Extreme Park.

In its centre, it has 3 major themed lands: Wild Wild West, World of Adventure and Waters of Africa. Each boasting fantastic rides and attractions, it’s a great place for the kids and adults alike.

Water Park
Waters of Africa, consists various slides and tubes that leads down to the main swimming pool. There is the Congo Challenge, Malaysia’s only headfirst six-lane racer water ride. If that’s not enough, brave the heights and speed of the intense Cameroon Climb.

The first-in-the world double tube water ride that steeply drops two riders at one time from as high as 15 meters, and shoots them up again to a height of eight metres. Another ride that promises an unforgettable experience will be the gigantic African Pythons. Spin around in loops before being propelled out of gigantic tubes!

There is also the Surf Beach: said to be one the world's largest man-made surf beach, powered by the world's largest wave machine which can produce waves of up to 8 feet in height. Try your hand in surfing or a game of beach soccer or volleyball. You can even work on your tan whilst gazing at 75 feet high Man-Made Erupting Volcano (don't think it works though).

Amusement Park
Here the themed Wild Wild West and World of Adventure offers yet more fun and thrills.
The Wild Wild West is made out as the land of cowboys and Red Indians. Discover an American frontier town with wooden facades and totem poles, like you see in the movies and cowboys and cowgirls in the authentically-built cowboy town and old-styled saloons.

There are thrilling rides here as well. You get wet when you ride the Grand Canyon Rapid Falls, sitting in giant tubes while swirling around the 350 m river. You also get wet on the exhilarating Niagara Falls Flume Ride. That's another major attraction where you and your friends get into logs and drop down a steep hill into a 260 m long river.

When you’ve had enough of the rough and tumble, impress your friends at the Alamo games arcade as you put your dexterity to test. Other rides include the Buffalo Bill Coaster, Butch Cassidy’s Trail and Colorado Splash.

In World of Adventure, take a trip to the high seas on the Pirates Revenge 360-degree Rotating Pirate Ship or ‘walk the plank as you take on the majestic view from the 428 metres long Worlds Longest Pedestrian Suspension Bridge.

Brave the tunnels, booby traps and tarantulas in The Lost City of Gold ride and conquer the swinging Galleon.

Extreme Park
For adrenaline pumping fun, challenge yourself with the large variety of feats at the Extreme Park. Hit the bulls eye at the Archery Target Shooting, go off-road on the All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) or meet your need for speed at the Go-Kart.

There is also Asia’s Highest Slingshot Ride, the G-Force X or go soaring through the lines of Malaysia’s longest Flying Fox at 206 meters or take the ultimate leap of faith at the Bungy Jump. You can also enjoy the speed and sharp manoeuvres of jet boat rides or simply indulge in the serenity of the lake on a kayak.

Wildlife Park
This is an interactive zoo featuring exotic, small and friendly animals from a range of birds, reptiles & mammals. It arge unhindered viewing bays offer a close up view of the animals. There are no bars or fences – the zoo uses dry, wet moats glass to offer an unobstructed view of the animals. In some areas like the “jungle trail”, animals are free in their wild habitats. You cannot compare this to major parks or zoo's, but kids will have fun feeding and interacting with the animals here.

Scream Park
A house of horrors covering 3 floors designed to frighten and intimidate the unawares. In addition to frightening special effects, Scream Park employs live actors who jump out and scream at you, blow down the back of your neck and do lots of other scary tricks. Alien, zombie and one of the most iconic slashers in Hollywood history, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th are all featured inside the new Scream Park attraction, Horrorwood Studios.

The Scream Park is also home to Southeast Asia’s only Terminator-themed laser tag game, Terminator X: A Laser Battle for Salvation. Laser Battle for Salvation will have you fighting in teams against elite SkyNET soldiers.

Points to Note
Lockers are plentiful and worth hiring. Don't hire a locker near the entrances - walk straight down towards the water park area and there are multi-use ones available near the food stalls. This is a busy area, but being able to dump everything and just access it from a central point throughout the day makes it worth the effort. Make a careful note of the locker number!

No proper information systems.
The customer service is not that great. Some of the staff struggle with English and others make no effort to interact with any customers at all.

The changing areas and toilets are not very unhygienic - facilities inadequate to cater to large masses especially on weekends and holidays.
Swim suits and towels are available just in case one forgets to take them!

Variety of food and drinks are available but expensive and has gone downhill in the last two years. Outside food strictly not permitted and there is a bag search to ensure no outside food or drink is brought into the park.

*Lots of hustle and bustle to get tickets - Suggest getting there at opening time, if you can, to enjoy almost no queues.
*Upon entry you receive a wristband to wear throughout the day - it is like a watch. This can be loaded up with money so you do not have to carry any cash around with you and can use this wristband to buy things. At the end of the day you can return it for a refund of your deposit or "trade it in" for other gifts such as real watches or necklaces. The system works well most of the time, but it is annoying if your wristband does not scan properly at times.
*Always make sure your wrist band is with you. Losing it will cost you dearly. If you have very young children, wear their bands on yours. There is a RM 50 immediate fine.
*For RM100 for access to all three different theme parks, but this does not include bungee jumping, Go-Kart etc.

*Rides are closed if it rains but even on a good day expect few of the rides to be closed for some reason or another.
*Most of the "operational and functioning" water rides are out-dated and in serious need of maintenance,

The Park
If there be a company event expect some of the park areas to be closed and be catered solely for the event

• We know we are supposed to promote this this place, but we also believe you should be aware of the facts and hopefully so does the Sunway's Management.
